Keeping New Years Resolutions

February 5th, 2007 · No Comments

chess Indeed, it is not easy to keep New Year resolutions.

As Mentor/Life Coach, my first recommendation is to take a mentor to guide you on how to reach your goals, and usually, much more. If you cannot afford one I think that there are some things you could try to do, and hopefully they will help you achieve those things you want.

Before getting to the tips, I would like to note that through the years I’ve noticed that when it comes to decision making, there are three kinds of people:
1. “I wish I would do…” or “I would love to have…” - These people hope things will fall straight into their lap. They usually will not make an active effort to reach those goals.
2. “That’s it! This year I will…” or “Next week I am starting to…” - These people usually start to do what they decided, but somewhere along the way, stop, give up, or don’t find the time anymore. I think many of us fall into this category.
3. “I know and I believe that I will… therefore I am building a schedule” or “I am starting right now… and I am asking a friend to help me reach this goal” - These are the kind of people that truly BELIEVE and feel it in there bones. The thing that they want is going to materialize, and nothing will stop them from getting there.

So what can I offer you? I think that there are a few things you could do. Just know that it will be time consuming, it will involve hard work and perseverance. If you need support, ask a friend, a family member or someone you know that will help you throughout the whole journey.

Boost Your Mind Using Mind Mapping

January 28th, 2007 · 3 Comments

Mindmap When we encounter information, events, people, data etc., our mind is trying to convert it into more meaningful knowledge. We do that by bringing the data into our bank of inner information and we try to associate and make analogies about the common denominator of the outer data and information and the inner one as well.

Information, when combined, brings, usually, new insights, and changes perception about what we encounter. This is basically an automatic creative process, which most people can do without learning any special techniques. If you add questioning, which is an art by itself, the higher your capabilities are, the higher your solutions and inventions will be.

Between Knowledge and Talent

January 17th, 2007 · 4 Comments

A lot of us confuse Talent with knowledge!
Some people know everything about something!
Others know something about everything!
The first, are probably experts, yet have a narrow perspective of the world
The second are probably not experts, but have a wider perspective of the world.
Talented people have both!
Between Talent and Knowledge
Have you ever asked yourself what is the distance between knowledge and talent?
